Vaikasa Deathpaw
Watchful Island

I had been sailing on the seas on me raft for nigh on twelve days. Me food and water was gone. I was delerious from hunger, and hoping for sight of land. It was foggy, so I wasn't quite sure if the misty shape in the distance was land or not. I thought that it might be just high hopes on my part. I had no way of controlling my craft, but luckily it sailed on straight to the shape. It was land! But there was something wrong... I 'ad a feeling that someone was watching me with evil intent. I don't mean the evil as in what goodbeasts think evil, but evil as in killing evil. I normally would 'ave gone back to the craft, but, after all, I did need food. After abou' an 'our of searching the island, I found vittles. All the while, I kept hearing rustling behind me, but every time I turned around, there was no one there. I still felt watched. I lay down to rest after eating. I awoke to the chant of some voles, wearing skulls on their heads. I was gagged and bound. I felt sort o' groggy, but I managed to get me trusty dagger out (the voles hadn't the brains to take it from me), and cut the rope holdin' me. There were other prisoners about, mostly goodbeasts. I pretended to go back to sleep, but I had my eyes slitted, so I could still see. Unfortunately, one vole had seen me awake. He yelled some weird language at the other voles, then came towards me. When he was right over me, I leaped up, grabbed my rapier and dagger, and cut into the crowd of voles. I musta killed abou' 100 voles that day. Since they were already bound, I took one of the goodbeasts with me, a small mouse. The rest had been trampled by the voles. All that for some vittles and a slave. I don't think I'll go to that island again. The funny thing was, I still, even after the battle, felt watched...
